GOfuel Assisting Whakatane District Council

Posted by Go Fuel on

GOfuel team members have been assisting Whakatane District Council in coordinating and providing fuel, equipment and lubes to the ‘once in 500-year flood’ afflicted areas of Edgecumbe.

All spare trailer tanks, and any available from customers, have been deployed to provide a readily available supply of diesel to the pumping units and earthmoving machinery in the township. Yesterday (11th April) GOfuel sourced a rental 1000 ltr cube and this has been deployed via helicopter to remote and cut-off areas south of Murupara.

Rob Kent, GOfuel’s General Manager Commercial, commented, “It’s been a challenging exercise and the team have been working non-stop for days providing fuel to relief services in Edgecumbe, plus maintaining fuel supply to other users in the area. Our Whakatane boys (Chris, Steve and David) are doing a fantastic job and, with more heavy rain forecast from the remnants of Cyclone Cook, we are committed to carry on our support.”
