GOfuel Team at Squadron Ladies Fishing Day

GOfuel sponsored the Ladies in the annual Squadron Ladies Fishing Day and entered a prize winning team this month. Competition categories were simple: Largest Snapper, Closest to the Average, largest other species and the best photos of the day. The boundaries were set with teams not allowed to go any further north than the areas between Browns Bay, Rakino Island and the Motuihe Channel. All three teams had a fantastic day out on the water and caught a healthy number of fish. A highlight of the day was a large pod of common dolphins that joined us near Rakino Island....

GOfuel sponsored Jerry Rowley and Matt Bailey, two friends from Wanaka, in the recent Targa New Zealand Rally. The high speed race covered 4250 kilometres over nine days and the pair were delighted to claim first on the GT2 production, two wheel drive section for cars up to two litres. They were both determined to break the 200km mark in their two litre Toyota 86 and thanks to smart driving and unusual steps, they hit 203. They finished 28th out of the 51 cars that completed the event. Next October Targa will be in the South Island.

The Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron are taking the America’s Cup, the oldest trophy in international sport, on a national tour of the regions to give as many New Zealanders the chance to see the trophy in person. GOfuel Assisting Whakatane District Council

GOfuel team members have been assisting Whakatane District Council in coordinating and providing fuel, equipment and lubes to the ‘once in 500-year flood’ afflicted areas of Edgecumbe. All spare trailer tanks, and any available from customers, have been deployed to provide a readily available supply of diesel to the pumping units and earthmoving machinery in the township. Yesterday (11th April) GOfuel sourced a rental 1000 ltr cube and this has been deployed via helicopter to remote and cut-off areas south of Murupara.
